The first part of the series was released back in 2001 and belonged to the genre of tactical shooter. The publishers of this part were Red Storm Enretainment and Ubisoft Enterteinment. The concept of the game initially implied hardcore (protagonists are killed with 1-2 bullets) and hard realism, preservations were disconnected at high levels of complexity, and the operatives who died during the missions forever disappeared from the character selection menu. In addition, there was no particular hero, it was possible to switch between all characters selected for the task. Artificial intelligence was also pleased, after a sniper shot, for example, enemies tried to hide in the bushes or to lie in the least shot shelter, could bypass and crawl out of the flanks and if you did not think through the tactics and did not choose a competent position for each fighter, one could consider the mission of a failed mission. She was in the game and the opportunity to give orders to his partners, but few used it, preferring to play each fighter on his own.

Each mission began with a detailed briefing, during which it usually became clear what type of fighters to use, after a briefing, the characters selection menu opened. The characters were divided into classes: an attack aircraft, sniper, support, a sapper and a specialist, for each fighter you could choose a set of equipment, such as the main weapon and a gun, or the main weapons and additional shops for it. In the first missions, you can only play with ordinary fighters, but later experts open – pumped machines for murder with special guns, however, they have enough 1 bullet to die.

Graphics also underwent serious changes and was very realistic for 2006.

If you reflect, then all these changes were needed to live on and that fans do not say there, but not fashionable listers in 2006 and the sight of half the screen could bury the series if they were present in the new game.

The plot of the game talks about how a detachment of “ghosts” is involved in a special operation to capture several Mexican military, accused of illegally selling weapons to militants in Colombia, the Mexican military, meanwhile, attack the summite of security in North America, “ghosts” unfold and now their main task is to protect the president of the United States.
In 2007, the continuation was released: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, all the innovations from the last part remained in their places, improved only artificial intelligence and added customization of weapons, although sometimes partners tried to knock down a helicopter from a pistol.
